Security and risk.

A few careful habits can reduce common security risks. They cannot remove market risk, provider risk, or every chance of loss.

Key idea: slow down and verifyCourse complete
A shield connects to four account-safety habits: unique password, two-factor authentication, checking links and addresses, and keeping recovery words private.

Security habits help reduce risk, but no checklist can eliminate every risk.

Four habits worth remembering

Make the safe choice the easy choice

  • Use a unique password. A password manager can help you avoid reusing passwords across services.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication or a passkey when the service offers it. Keep your recovery options secure too.
  • Check links and addresses. Use a trusted route to reach a service, and carefully verify the network and destination before a transfer.
  • Keep recovery words and private keys private. Do not share them with anyone. A person claiming to be support should not need them.
Pause when someone rushes you. Unexpected messages, guaranteed-return claims, and urgent requests to move funds are reasons to stop and verify independently.

Understand the risks too

Crypto asset prices can change quickly. A service can have outages, change its terms, or be unavailable in some places. A transfer sent to the wrong address or network may be hard or impossible to reverse. Scams and phishing attempts can target both accounts and wallets.

Read product terms and risk information before taking action. Do not treat an educational course, an exchange listing, or a security checklist as a promise that an asset or service is suitable for you.

Pause and check

Before clicking, signing in, or sending anything, ask: Do I trust this link? Have I checked the details? Is anyone pressuring me to act quickly?

You finished the course. You now have a basic vocabulary for asking better questions. Keep learning before making financial decisions.
